Et oui le grand Zahler revient enfin pour son 4e film
Un pollar hardboiled bien noir avec des éléments horrifiques, se déroulant à New York avec 2 flics enquêtant sur des crimes sadiques.
En terme de ton c'est décrit entre Seven et Marathon Man, sachant que le scenar est écrit par Zahler lui-même, et devait à la base être mis en scène par Michael Mann il y a 10 ans.

Petit aparté, mais il semblerait bien que le western de R. Scott soit une adaptation de son Wraiths of the Broken Land.

Bonjour,
Un mélange de polar hardboiled avec des éléments horrifiques, cela promet d'être intense. L'ambiance sombre et détaillée décrite entre "Seven" et "Marathon Man" semble captivante. Cela me rappelle une scène d'escalier extérieur dans un film similaire qui ajoutait une tension palpable à l'intrigue.

Ce serait génial, le combo R.Scott/Cormac McCarthy ayant fait des merveilles, j'en attends pas moins avec Zahler !

Apparemment, le projet auquel il s’est attelé est son film sur les Bee Gees.
Donc pas de Western Scottien pour le moment. Pourvu que ce ne soit pas
forever…

Vince Vaughn et Adrien Brody seront les 2 persos principaux du nouveau Zahlerr
Set in 1959 New York, “The Bookie & the Bruiser” follows a pensive, Jewish fellow named Rivner and an oversized Italian-American tough named Boscolo from the Lower East Side, both of whom served overseas during WWII and returned changed men who no longer fit inside the lives they’d left behind. Uninterested in taking orders from bosses or playing by the rules of polite society, the two friends partner up as a bookmaker and an enforcer and create an illicit gambling operation that proves to be very profitable, though risky, and their situation gets rather sticky when they find themselves stuck between a powerful Irish gang and the Mafia. The film is currently in pre-production and is planned for a fall 2024 shoot.
